7.3.9 Accept the unavoidable things for a happy Life

A better way to a happy life 

In this huge world every moment some events or the other happen. Some of them are in your favour but some others are against you. It happens to everyone.Nothing is under your control. So what is happening, let it happen. Do not worry about the things which are not under your control and cannot be changed even after your  using all efforts to change them. Tolerate what is happening and what is going to happen, realizing it God's will because God knows it better what is good to you. And try to understand the secret and internal meaning of the following prayer written by Dr. Reinhold Neibuhr and think over it again and again - 

God grant me the serenity,

To accept the things I cannot change, 

The courage to change the things I can , 

And the wisdom to know the difference.

So accept the unavoidable things for a happy life.

(7.1.4) Risk

 (7.1.4) RISK

There is a risk every thing in life. If you laugh , people may call you foolish. If you weep , there may be a risk of  looking emotional. If you help others , there may be risk of being indulged i.e. people may think that there is the vested interest of the helper in his help.) If you express your feelings before others , there will be a risk of showing your real personality. If you tell people about your ideas and imaginations , they may call you inexperienced. It is also risky to love others because it is not certain that you will get love in return. Even living life is not free from risk because there too lies the risk of dying. If you hope  something , there will be a risk of despair i.e. there will be a risk of your being hopeless someday. If you try to do some thing , you fear , you may fail. Thus there is risk every where in life. But you can do nothing without taking  risk. A life without risk is the greatest danger in itself.

The person who risks nothing , can do nothing in life. He can have nothing. He becomes unimportant in the society. The person who does not take risk, can escape  from troubles and sorrows of life. But he can not learn anything. He can not feel anything new. He can not change himself or the world. He can not make progress in life. He can not love others. He can not even live his own life well because all things demand risk.

The immediate advantage of avoiding risk is that the person can avoid suffering and sorrow for a short time. But the person who risks nothing , does nothing , has nothing and becomes nothing. The person who takes risks , learns new things , gains new experience , changes his position, develops into an important person , lives life well and is able to face difficult  situations in life.

7.1.3 My Opinion about My Father

1.When I was three years old I thought , " My father is the bravest and the strongest person of the world.
2.When I was six years old I thought, " My father is not only the strongest person of the word but also the wisest and the most sensible person of the world.
3.When  I was nine years old I thought , " My father has the knowledge about each and every thing of the world."
4.When I was twelve years old I thought , "My father is wiser ( more sensible ) than me."
5.When I was fifteen years old I felt , " My father needs some more knowledge to keep pace with the world."
6. When I was twenty years old I felt , " My father does not belong to this world and he cannot go along with my way of thinking."
7.When I was twenty five years old I thought , " I should not take  his advice in any matter because he is in the habit of finding fault with every thing."
8.When I was thirty years old, I felt , " My father has become a bit sensible because of his copying me ( following me ) (he has copied me )
9. When I was thirty five years old , I felt ," In small matter he can be consulted with."
10.When I was forty years old , I felt , " In some necessary matters, My father's advice might be taken. "
11.When I was fifty years old , I decided , " I must not do any thing without consulting my father because now I have known it better that my father is the most sensible  person of the world. "
But before I could put my decision into action, my father  had left away this world for his heavenly abode and I had to remain deprived  of his advice and experience. 

13-2-4 Small Things with a Big Difference

1. Two persons = six persons.

When two persons meet, then in fact six persons meet - the two persons what they think of themselves, the two persons about whom the other persons think and the two persons what they are. ( William James )

2. We get back the same what we give others.

Once I asked a sinner, " You commit a lot of sins. Do you know the result they bring to you ?"

The sinner replied, " The Ganga is a holy river. It washes away all the sins committed by everybody. I take a bath in the Ganga and all my sins are washed away."

Then I asked the river Ganga, " A lot of persons come and throw their sins in your water. What do you do with all the sins they throw into you ?"

The Ganga replied, " I take them with my currents and throw them into the sea. " 

I asked the sea, " What do you do with the sins that the Ganga brings to you ? "

The sea replied, " I turn them into vapour and then they become the part of clouds. "

I asked the clouds, " What do you do with the sins, the sea gives to you ? " 

The clouds replied, " In the form of rain we shower all the sins on their respective sinners.

3. Cheerfulness is better than grumbling -

There was once an engine driver who was a cheerful man. He always looked on the bright side of things, and was fond of telling people that there was sure to be some good in their misfortune, whether they could see it or not. One day his train ran into another and he was terribly injured. When he was taken to hospital it was found necessary to amputate one of the legs. A few days later a party of friends visited him, and one of his friends said, " I am afraid the poor fellow will have some difficulty in seeing the bright side of this affair". Hearing this, the engine driver smiled and said, " Not at all, I shall have only one boot to buy and clean in future ".  Cheerfulness is better than grumbling.
