(7.2.21) Bhaddari Ki Kahaavaten

Bhaddari ki Kavita / Bhaddari ki Baten

Here under is a collection of the Kahavaten of Bhaddari. These Kahavaten are related to rain, astrology and manners. They are very popular among the people in general and particularly among the farmer community.
(1) Akhai teej rohinee na hoi, Paush Amaavas mool na joi.
Raakhee sravano  heen vichaaro,Kaatik Poonon kritikaa taaro.
Mahi-Maaheen khal balahin prakaasai, Kahat Bhaddari saali binaasai.
Meaning in English -If Rohini Nakshatra does not fall on Akshay Tritiya ( Vaisakh Shukla Tritiya), Mool Nakshtra does not fall on the Amavasya of Paush month,Shravan Nakshatra does not fall on the Purnima of Shravan month, Kritika Nakshatra does not fall on the Purnima of Kartik month, the poet Bhaddari says that the wicked persons will be powerful and the crops will not be good.
(2) Jo Chitraa men khelai gaai, Nihachai khaali saakh na jaai.
Meaning in English - If the moon is in Chitra Nakshatra on Kaartik Shukla Pratipadaa - Goverdhan Poojaa,Annakoot, Gou Kreeda, then there will be good crops.
(3) Paanch Saneechar, Paanch Ravi, Paanch Mangar jo hoy.
Chhatra toot dharanee parai, Anna mahango hoy.
Meaning in English - If in one month, there are five Saturdays, five Sundays, and five Tuesdays, it is considered to be inauspicious. If it is so , it is harmful for the king (the government) and the food grains will be costly (dear).
(4) Som Sukar Surguru divas, Poos Amaavas hoy.
Ghar - ghar bajee badhaavadaa,Dukhee na deekhai koy.
Meaning in English - If Monday or Thursday or Friday falls on on the Amaavasyaa of the month of Paush, It is considered to be good and no one will be unhappy.
(5) Mangalvaaree Maavasee, Faagun chaitee joy.
Pashu becho Kan Sangraho, Navasee dukaalaa hoy.
Meaning in English - If Tuesday falls on the Amaavasyaa of Phalgun and Chaitra month, then there will be famine. So one should sell one's animals and buy food grains.

1. Mengaho rove ek baar, ar soongho rove baar baar.
. मेंहगो रो 'वै एक बार, अ 'र सूंघो रो 'वै बार- बार।
 One who buys dear is always better than the one who buys cheap and repents for ever .

2.Bakaree rove jeev ne, ar khateek rove maans ne.
. बकरी रो 'वै जीव नै , अ 'र खटीक रो 'वै माँस नै।
 Every one thinks of his own profit.

. घर को छोरो अ 'र , बार लो बींद।
 A person is respected at some other place than at his own place .

 रोतो जा 'वै वो मरेड़ा की खबर ल्यावै।
 When a person does the work half heartily , the result cannot be good.

 बिना रोयाँ तो माँ ही ,बोबो कोनी  दे 'वै।
 Nothing can be got without effort .

 जागता नै जगावणो दो 'रो।
 It is difficult to make the person understand who deliberately does not want to understand .

8. Ambar ko taaro haath syun konee toote.
 अम्बर को तारो हाथ स्यूं को 'नी टू 'टै।
  To achieve some thing big , one has to work hard .

9. Unt kisee kan baihe lo.
 ऊंट किसी कण बैठे 'लो।
 One cannot be sure of the final result .

10. Poot kaa pag to paalane hee deekh jaave.
 पूत का पग तो पालणे ही दीख जा 'वे।
 A person's reality can be known at an early stage .

11. Marayan binaa sarag konee deeke.
. मरयां बिना सरग कोनी दी 'खै।
 Without depending upon others , one has to do the work oneself to get desired results .

12. Maare jeene maadyo maare, maadyaa na kun maare.
. मारै जी 'नै माद् 'यो मा 'रै, माद् 'या नै कुण मा 'रै।
 Who can oppose the mighty and powerful ?

 There are some wicked persons who do not have courage to harm others but they cause harm to their own relatives to fulfill their mean purpose .

1. Aandhaa kaa tandooraa raamdev jee bajaasee.
1. आंधा का तंदूरा रामदेव जी बजासी।
 God takes care of a helpless person.

2. क'रै कुण , अ'र भ'रै  कुण।
 There are times when some other person commits a crime and an innocent person has to bear the results.

जाज्यो लाख ,रैज्यो साख।
Honour and pride are much more valuable than money.

 There are some persons who are unable  to make the proper use of the available chances.

 When a person believes a deceptive person , he is sure to be deceived.

6. ऊंट को रोग रेबारी जाणै।
Only an expert person in the field , can know the real fault.

7. आसोजां का पड्या तावड़ा, जोगी बणग्या जाट।
  During the rainy season when there is no rain, the farmer community has to under go monetary loss.

8. Naahar ke baachyo kun devai.
8. ना 'र कै बाच्यो कुण दे 'वै।
Who can oppose the mighty and powerful.

9. Raanaa rotee rahasee, ar paavanaa jeemataa rahasee.
9. रांडा रोती रहसी , अ 'र पावणा जीमता रहसी।
The essential work will go on even if some one opposes it.

10. Baandaree chale gee, ar saankal bhee le gee.
10 . बांदरी चले 'गी , अ 'र साँकऴ भी ले 'गी।
 In some cases smaller loss also seems important when one suffers a bigger loss .

11 . नी, मामा स्यूं तो कांणो मामों ही चोखो।
 Rather than having nothing at all, it is better to get something .(Something is better than nothing .)

15. घर की खांड करकरी ला 'गै , पेलां को गुड मीठो ला 'गै।
 People always want what is out of their reach and disregard what they have in hand.

16. Ya tilaa ma tel konee.
16. यां तिलां म तेल को 'नी।
 There are some people or things that are useless and unable to serve our purpose.

17. Ghar ka jogee joganaa, aan gaanv kaa siddh. 
17.  घर का जोगी जौगणा , आन गाँव का सिद्ध।
  A wise man is only acknowledged after he goes away for is livelihood outside his home town or his village.

18. Bhatt jee bhattaa khaave, ar doojaa ne gyaan bataave. 
18. भट्ट जी भट्टा खा 'वै , अ 'र  दूजा नै ज्ञान बता 'वै।
 It is easy for one to give advice to others but it is difficult to practise oneself.

19. Sau baataa syun to ek naa bhalee
19.  सौ बातां स्यूं तो  एक 'ना' भली।
 It is better to turn down a request  if it is not in our interest and can later get us in to trouble .

20. झूंठ पगाँ को 'नी  चा 'लै।
 Sooner or later the reality is disclosed.
