(10.3.61) Ramaa Ekadashi / Rama Ekadashi Vrat 2016

When is Rama Ekadashi / Ramaa Ekadashi
Kartik Krishna  Ekadashi is known as Rama Ekadashi.
Rama Ekadashi Vrat Vidhi :-
(1) The person who wants to observe Rama Ekadashi fast should get up early in the morning on Dashami Tithi, a day before Ekadashi. He should take a bath and perform his daily routine. He should have a single meal on Dashami Tithi.
(2) On Ekadashi, no meal is taken. (But if the health does not permit, one should take some fruits and milk.) In the night the Vrati should hear the religious discourses or read religious books.
(3)On Dwadashi Tithi, the Vrati should break the Vrat after feeding the Brahmins and giving them some Dan.
Importance of Rama Ekadashi Vrat:-
Observing the fast on Indira Ekadashi washes away the sins of the Vrati. He comes out of the troubles as a result of this Vrat. Even if the person listens to the story of the sacred fast of Rama Ekadashi ,is freed from all kinds of sins and at last attains the supreme abode of Lord Vishnu.
Rama Ekadashi Vrat story -
Once there was a king named Muchukund. He was truthful and a great devotee of Lord Vishnu. He had a daughter whose name was Chandrabhaga. She was married to the prince Shobhan . Once Shobhan came to his father- in -law's house. While he was there, Rama Ekadashi came. The king Muchukund made an announcement that as usual every body in the kingdom would observe the fast on Rama Ekadashi. Shobhan also heard the announcement. Although his body was weak yet he observed. As he could not bear  thirst and hunger, he died the next day.
Because of the auspicious effect of the  Ramaa Ekadashi Vrat he became the ruler of a kingdom on the Mandarachal mountain. Once a Brahman named Som Sharma who lived in the kingdom of Muchukund, by chance went to the Mandarachal mountain where he saw Shobhan as a king. He recognized the  Muchukund's son in law. He went to Shobhan and asked him to tell him how he obtained all these things. Shobhan said, "It is all due to the observance of the Vrat on Rama Ekadashi. "
Som Sharma went back to the city of Muchukund and narrated to him what he had seen. Chandrabhaga wished to see her husband. So Shom Sharma took her to the Mandrachal mountain where she met her husband. She said to Shobhan," I have been observing the Rama Ekadashi Vrat since I attained the age of eight years. By the power of my observance of the Ekadashi Vrat this kingdom will remain stable for long.

He is the devotee of Lord Ram. He can jump over the ocean and kill demons in no time.
I pray to such a god Hanuman to remove my troubles and obstacles.Give me mental peace and prosperity.
After this feeling and prayer Jap (chant or repeat) the following Mantra at least 324 times (three Malas) or 540 times (five Malas) or 756 times (seven Malas) for at least forty  days.

To nullify its bad effect ,one should  listen to the tale of Syamantak as a remedial measure. The tale of Syamantak is given below -
The story of Syamantak -
In the city of Dwarakapuri there lived a person whose name was Satraajit. Once Satraajit worshiped Sun (Suryadev) with full devotion. Suryadev was pleased with his worship and gave him a Syamantak Mani (a precious gem). This gem shone just like the sun and gave light. It had the power to give gold coins. One day Satraajit suspected that Lord Krishna might snatch the gem from him. Thinking so Satraajit gave the gem to his brother Prasen to wear it. By chance Prasen was killed and eaten up by a lion during hunting. Jaambvan , somehow got that gem.
Satraajit blamed Lord Krisna and said that He had killed his brother Prasen to get the gem. To show the reality and to get Himself free from this blame, Lord Krishna went to the cave of Jaambvaan and fought with him and got the gem from him and gave it to Satraajit. Satraajit came to know the reality and gave the gem to Lord Krishna. Thus Krishna's blemish washed away.
