6-2-5 Kaal Sarp Yog / Kal Sarp Dosh

Kal sarp Yog ? Need not be afraid of it.

What is  Kaal Sarp Yog / Kal Sarp Dosh and how it is formed -
Kalsarp Yog is a Yog in astrology. Some times this Yog is called as Kal Sarp Dosh but it is not a Dosh, it is a Yog.
Kaal Sarp Yog is formed when all the other seven planets (while transiting from one sign of the zodiac to the next sign) come between Rahu and Ketu in the birth chart of a person. This combination is considered a negative and inauspicious Yog. It is said that this Yog creates obstacles in the life of the person and he has to struggle a lot to achieve his goal.
Why has Kalsarp Yog become so fearful -
It has become much fearful Yog  because of its name as Kaal means death and Sarp means snake. Thus its name has psychologically negative effect on the minds of the people in general.
The fact about Kalsarp Yog -
But the fact is not so. How can only Rahu and Ketu do and decide every thing for a person? If they do , what will be the role of other seven planets ? The osition of other seven planets cannot be over looked. If the horoscope of a person , with Kaal Sarp yog , has other auspicious yogs like Gajkesri yog , Raj yog or any other good yog etc. or Jupiter or other planets are in their exalted state , Rahu and Ketu are in their exalted sign , the so called Kaal Sarp yog cannot have any adverse effect on the life of the person.
One more important thing about the Kaal Sarp yog is that ancient books on Astrology like Mansagari, Brihajjatak, Brihat Parashar Hora Shastra etc. have not even mentioned this Yog.
If your Kundali has this yog, you need not be afraid of it because every one of us has one  problem or the other in our life , and every problem is not due  to this yog. Have full faith in God and chant Maha Mritunjay Mantra or Tri akshar Mritujay Mantra  or  worship Lord Shiva with full faith  and you will find that every problem passes away without  causing you any harm.
It is also necessary to mention that there many persons who have achieved a lot of success in their life in spite of having this Kaal Sarp Yog in their birth chart.

6-2-4 Mangal Dosh/Kujdosh

6-2-4 Mangal Dosh/Kujdosh

When Mars is placed in first, fourth ,seventh, eighth or twelfth house, the Kundali has Mangal Dosh and the person is called a "Mangalik." The location of Mangal in these five houses is considered  inauspicious, particularly for the married life.
A large number of astrologers, particularly in south India, include second house also in the mangal dosh.In a kundali (horoscope) there are twelve houses and out of these twelve houses Mars causes Mangal Dosh in six houses, which means 50 per cent of the people are Mangalik and they  have some trouble or the other in their married life. The intention of the creator of the world can not be to make the married life of the half of the population troublesome. So people need not be afraid of this Dosh.
Besides it, there are some other aspects and angles which should also be considered. The over all strength of the kundli ,strength of the planets, benefice aspects and the strength of mars must also be considered.
Cancellations of  Mangal Dosh :-
The following are the two types of exceptions and cancellation of Mangal Dosh -
A. From the kundali of the native himself/herself.
B. From the kundali of the partener.

A. From the kundali of the native himself/herself.
(1) If mars is in Lagna (the first house) in Aries,or mars in Sagittarius in the twelfth house, or mars in Scorpio in fourth house,or mars in Pisces in the seventh house or mars in Aquarius in the eight house, the mangal dosh does not occur in that kundali or mangal dosh is considered as cancelled.
(2) If mars is receiving drishti from Jupiter,Mangal dosh is not harmful.
(3).If mars is placed with jupiter or moon, or moon is in the kendra  i.e. in the first or fourth or seventh or tenth house,Mangal Dosh is cancelled.
(4) If in the birth chart of a girl,Jupiter is placed in Kendra or in Trikon, then mangal dosh is removed.
(5) If mars is in its own sign, in Aries or Scorpio, if mars is exalted (i.e. in the sign cancer), if mars is in its friends' sign , in uchha navansh or in swanavansh, mangal dosh is removed.

(B).From the kundali of the partener.
1.If in both the persons' birth charts, mangal is placed in the first , fourth ,seventh , eighth or twelfth house , then  due to equality, mangal dosh is nullified. (i.e. if a girl or a boy having mangal dosh, is married to a boy or a girl with mangal dosh, the mangal dosh is cancelled and there will be mutual happiness.)
2. If in one person's birth chart , mars is placed in the first , fourth ,seventh, eighth or twelfth house and in the others person's birth chart, saturn or rahu is placed in one of these houses , then mangal dosh is not there.
Remedial measures to repel mangal dosh :

12-1-10 The Wisest Person

12-1-10 The Wisest Person

The goddess at Delphi in Greece was widely respected for her prophecies. One day some one asked her,"Who is the wisest and the most learned person in Greece at this time ?"
The goddess said,"Socrates."
Hearing it some people went to Socrates and said to him,"The goddess has proclaimed that you are the wisest and the most learned person in Greece."
Socrates said,"It is wrong. I am not learned, I am ignorant, though I am desirous of getting knowledge."
Hearing it the people went back to the goddess and said"You have proclaimed Scorates to be the wisest and the most learned person but he refuses to be so and says that he is ignorant."
The goddess said,"Only because of it,he is the wisest and the most learned person because in spite of being a learned person,he has no arrogance of his wisdom and knowledge."
Moral :- A learned person is never arrogant of his knowledge and wisdom.

6-2-3 Gand Mool Nakshatra or Gandant Nakshtara

Gand Mool Nakshatra or Gandant  Nakshtara

The six Nakshatras i.e. Mool, Jestha, Ashlesha , Revati , Ashavini and Magha are called Gand Mool Nakshatras . Out of these six Nakshtras, three Nakshatras - Mool , Jestha and Ashalesha are considered more inauspicious for the birth of a child. If a native has taken birth in any of these Nakshatras, Shantikarm is suggested on the day when the same Nakshatra repeats.
Shantikarm can be done on the thirteenth day from the birth day or when the child attains eight years of his age or at any auspicious time. The Shantikarm removes all the evil effects of the Gand Mool Nakshatra.

Quarter wise effect of Gand Mool Nakshatra on the native :-
Although it is not considered auspicious the birth of the child in these Nakshatras yet there are some of the quarters of these Nakshatras which are considered auspicious in one Field on the other.
1.Ashivini Nakshatra  -
First quarter - Harmful for father.
Second quarter - Comfort in life.
Third quarter - Powerful like a minister.
Fourth quarter - Gets king like respects or gets respects from the king.
2. Ashalesha Nakshatra -
First quarter - Good (after shantikarm).
Second quarter - Loss of wealth.
Third quarter - Harmful for mother.
Fourth quarter - Harmful for father.
3.Magha -
First quarter - Harmful for mother.
Second quarter - Harmful for father.
Third quarter - Comforts and wealth.
Fourth quarter - Wealth and education.
4. Jestha -
First quarter - Harmful for elder brother.
Second quarter - Harmful for younger brother.
Third quarter  - Harmful for father.
Fourth quarter - Loss in general to the native.
5. Mool -
First quarter - Harmful for father.
Second quarter - Harmful for mother.
Third quarter - Loss of wealth.
Fourth quarter - Good after Shanti karm .
6. Revati -
First quarter - Gets respect from the king.
Second quarter - Powerful like a minister.
Third quarter - Wealth and riches.
Fourth quarter - Many troubles.

Abhukt Mool -
According to the Narad Sanhita, the last four Ghatis of Jeshtha (one ghati is equal to 24 minutes ) and the first four Ghatis of Mool Nakshatra is known as Abhukt Mool. According to the Acharya Vashishtha the last one Ghati of Jeshtha and the first two Ghatis of Mool Nakshatra is the Abhukt Mool .According to Brihaspati a half of the last Ghati of Jeshtha and a half of the first Ghati of Mool , thus one Ghati is known as Abhukt Mool.
The other Acharyas say that the first eight Ghatis of Mool and last five Ghatis of Jeshtha, thus thirteen Ghatis is known as the Abhukt Mool.
The period of Abhukt Mool is considered to be very inauspicious. So if the native has taken birth in Abhukt mool,Shanti karm must be done on the day when the same Nakshatra repeats.

12-1-9 Simplicity of Einstine

 Simplicity of Einstine

The Nobel Prize winner, great scientist Einstine, led a very simple life. He did not like pomp and show in his daily life. On his fifteeth birthday, his admirers  sent him congratulations. A few of them came there and wanted to congratulate him personally. So they brought bouquets with them and went to his home. At that time Einstine was working in his laboratory. His wife went to his laboratory to inform him of their (the admirers) arrival. He came out of the laboratory with his wife. His wife did not like her husband's meeting the admirers in his dirty clothes.
She got irritated and said, "While meeting the people, you must have changed your pantaloon." Einstine laughed and said," They have come to meet me and congratulate me and not to my pantaloon."  His wife became silent. Einstine kept on accepting the congratulations wearing the dirty clothes.
Such was the simplicity of Einstine.

2. Who is the right person whom he should listen to and whom to avoid ?

2.The most important person is he who is with us.

12-1-6 Sensitiveness of Lal Bahadur

12-1-6  Sensitiveness of  Lal Bahadur

When Lal Bahadur was six years old, one day he ,with a group of boys, raided a public garden for sheer mischief of it.As his companions climbed trees and began to pluck fruits ,Lal Bahadur looked around in pensive mood and plucked only a flower from a bush. Just then , one of the boys saw the mali  coming and  raised the alarm, instantly all the boys , except Lal Bahadur, vanished. The mali caught hold of Lal Bahadur and beat him.
Lal Bahadur said , "I am a poor, fatherless boy.Do not beat me." The mali smiled and said,"All the more reason why, my boy, you should behave better."
He then swore that he would behave better than others, and said to himself that he had to do that because he was fatherless.
This incident of Lal Bahadur's early life illustrates of his highly sensitive nature.

12-1-4 That Makes all the Difference

12-1-4 That Makes all the Difference
Hearing about the qualities of the music of Tansen's Guru,Swami Hari das, Akbar keenly wished to listen to it.So he with Tansen went to the Ashram of Swami to listen to his music.
They stayed at the Ashram for several days. But Swami, who sang only he wanted to,did not sing. Then one day Tansen deliberately played a false note.Swami could not endure it and started to sing himself. He sang the piece correctly, the mood came upon him and enveloped him,and he forgot himself in the music, which filled the earth and heaven.Akbar and Tansen forgot themselves in the sheer melody and charm of the music.
It was a unique experience. When the music stopped,Akbar turned to Tansen and said,"You say you learnt music from this saint and yet you seem to have missed the living charm of it all. Yours seems to be but chaff beside this soul-stirring music".
"It is true, sir,"  said Tansen,"It is true that my music is wooden and lifeless by the side of the living harmony and melody of the master. But then there is this difference- I sing to the emperor's bidding, but my master sings to no man's bidding but only when the prompting comes from his innermost self. That makes all the difference."

12-1-5 When Lal BahadurJumped in to the River

12-1-5 When Lal BahadurJumped in to the River

During his school days, one day Lal Bahadur Shastri, with a group of his friends, went across the river to attend the fair. After wandering all day at the fair, the other friends left the fair ground and took the boat to get across the river to reach their homes. But Lal Bahadur did not deliberately accompany them. When all his friends had left, and under the cover of dusk ,Lal Bahadur jumped into the river and swam across half a mile to the other bank.
The truth was that Lal Bahadur had no money to pay the boat man and was too  sensitive and proud to let his friends know it.
It is however not true that at any time Lal Bahadur swam his way to school because he did not have money to pay for the boat fare. This was actually a distortion of the above incident.

12-1-3 The Examinee Challenged the Examiner

12-1-3 The Examinee Challenged the Examiner
Tirtha Ram Gosain's (the future Swami Ram Tirtha's )career is very inspiring. The following story is one of the examples.
The Mathematics paper at the B.A. Examination was found very difficult by most of the candidates, and there were complaints about it in the Public Press.Nine out of thirteen questions were expected to be attempted. But Tirtha Ram solved all the thirteen questions and requested the examiner to assess any nine out of those he had answered. He secured 98 per cent marks. No wonder, therefore, that he became Professor of Mathematics in his own college immediately after doing M.A.

12-1-2 The Best Season of the Year

The Best Season of the Year
Once there lived a Seth(a very rich merchant )named Govind Narayan in a town in Rajasthan. He had a young son who had attained the marriageable age.The Seth began a search for a virtuous bride for his son.Whenever he got a proposal for his son's marriage from someone, he asked one and the same question to the daughter of the person who made the proposal - "Which is the best season of the year?"  Every girl gave a different answer with a different reason. But no answer could satisfy the merchant.
One day another merchant, Hariprakash was going somewhere with the members of his family. When he reached the town where Seth Govind Naryan lived, the night fell. So he decided to spend the night there.Knowing about the arrival of some rich merchant, Seth Govind Naryan went to him and requested him to spend the night at his Haveli. Hariprakash had a daughter.During their conversation, Hariprakash made a persopal of his daughter's marriage with Govind Naryan's son.As usual Govind naryan  asked the same question to the merchant's daughter - "Which is the best season of the year ? "
The girl answered - "If the environment of the family is peaceful, the younger members of the family have respect for their elders and the elder members have affection for the younger ones and all the members of the family are cooperative, for that family every season is the best season."
Seth Govind Naryan was impressed and satisfied with the girl's answer and accepted the proposal of her marriage with his son.

12-1-1 Duty

 DUTY
There was a rich shepherd in a village. Once he hired two boys to take care of his sheep. He divided the herd of sheep in two groups and assigned one boy to each. After a few days he observed that some of the sheep had died and others had lost weight in both the groups. The owner found the two boys guilty.
Both of them used to take the sheep along with them every morning but used to let them just roam around here and there and spent time in the 'hobbies' they were addicted to. One of them was used to gossiping He would just sit with a gang of other boys and gossip .  The sheep used to just move around in the surrounding area whether there was sufficient  stuff for grazing or not. Similar was the case with the other group; the boy in-charge of this had 'addiction' of spending time in worship and religious rituals.
The farmer lodged a complaint against both of them. Both were presented in the court of Village Judge. Although there was a great qualitative difference in their addictions, both were given the same penalty being found guilty of neglect of assigned duty.
The judicial verdict conveyed was- whatever is done by neglecting the assigned duties is wrong; whether it is the bad habit of gossiping or the good practice of worship; both are addictions in this case. Both are equally punishable because the immediate duty was fully ignored in each.

(5-3-16) Thirteen Days Paksh - an inauspicious period

 Thirteen Days Paksh
According to the Hindu calendar there are two Pakshas in a month, one is Shukla Paksh and the other is Krishna Paksh . Every Paksh has fifteen days. But due to Vriddhi Tithi (additional Tithi), there are 16 days in a Paksh. And due to the Kshaya Tithi, there remains 14 days in a Paksh. In a very few cases there are two Kshaya Tithis in a Paksh and as a result of it there remains only thirteen days in a Paksh due to two kshaya Tithis. This thirteen days Paksh is known as Vishva Ghastra Paksh. The Paksh of thirteen days is considered as an inauspicious period.
During this Paksh, the auspicious tasks like marriage, engagement, starting a new business , purchasing a new vehicle etc.are prohibited. But the tasks which have been started in the shubh muhurat before the starting of the thirteen days paksh and are in progress, have no bad effect of this paksh so they should not be stopped.

7-2-9 Chatushloki Bhagavat

 Chatushloki Bhagavat
These four shlokas (verses) are the essence the whole epic Bhagavat Puran. The reciting and the listening of these four verses everday with full faith, removes the ignorance and the arrogance of a person and leads him to the real knowledge of self. The person who recites and reads them becomes free from sins and follows the true path in his life. The four shlokas are as follows:-
