7-2-12 Ethics (Teachings) in Rajasthani Literature

 Moral Teaching in Rajashhani Sahitya)

1. Sukh sampat ar audasaa, sab kaahoo ke hoya.
Gyaanee kaate gyaan soo, moorkh kaate roya.
Meaning - Sukh, sampatti aur bure din to samayaanusaar sabhee ke saamne aate rahate hain, parantu gyaanee vyakti bure dino ko gyaan se kaatataa hai, aur moorkh vyakti unhe ( bure din ko ) ro kar kaatataa hai.
2. Raam kahe Sugreeva ne, Lankaa ketee door.
Aalasiyan alghee ghanee, uddhyam haath hazoor.
Meaning - Bhagwan Raam ne Sugreeva se poochha, " Lankaa kitanee door hai ? ". Sugreeva ne uttar diyaa, " Aalasee vyakti ke liye vah bahut door hai, parntu uddhyamee vyakti ke liye maatra ek haath kee dooree par hee hai ". Arthat uddhyam ke bina kisee ko bhee safalataa nahin milatee hai.
3. Kahaan Lankaapati le gayo, kahaan Karan gayo khoy.
Jas - jeevan, apajas - maran, kar dekho sab koy.
Meaning - Lankaapati Ravan apane saath kyaa le gyaa aur mahaarathee Karan ne sansaar men kyaa kho diyaa ? Sone kee Lankaa kaa swaamee hote huye bhee Ravan ne apayash prapt kiyaa aur mahaarathee Karan ne sone kaa daan karke sansaar men yash praapt kiyaa. Koi bhee karake dekh le, yash aur apayash hee to jeevan aur mrityu hai.
4. Sat mat chhodo he naraa, sat chodyaan pat jaay.
Sat baandhee lichchhamee(लिच्छमी), pher milegee aay.
Meaning - Are, logon, satya, arthaat sanmaarg ko kabhee mat chhodo, ise choodne se pratishthaa samaapt ho jaatee hai. Yadi sanmaarg par dridh rahe to gai hui Lakshmi phir vaapas mil jaayegee.
5Seel sareerah ambharan, sonon bhaarim ang.
Mukh mandan sachchau ( सच्चउ) vayan, vin tambolah rang.
Meaning - Seel hee vaastavik alankaar hai, sonaa to angon par padaa hua bhaar hai. Mukh kee shobhaa, satya vachan hai, na ki taambool se use ( mukh ko ) ranganaa.
