So if proper muhurat for marriage is not available, Phulera dooj is taken for the muhurat of marriage.( Although there is no mention of it being Aboojh Muhurat for marriage in astrological books, yet this day has become so popular that marriages are performed on Phulera Dooj.)

(7.1.5) Qualities of a Happy Life

  Qualities of a Happy Person
A happy person is not dependent on others. He does not work according to other's will.
His honesty is his guard and plain simple truth is his best skill and only guide.
He is the master of his passions and controls the feelings of love , hatred , anger and jealousy. He is not afraid of death.
He cares neither for the favour of the king , nor for the criticism of the common people.
A happy man keeps balanced mind. He is never jealous  of other people's progress nor is he ever happy at their down fall.
He is not carried away by his own success nor does he regret his own ruin. He is unaffected by rumours, flatterers and foes.
He is man of  pure heart. He is open hearted and plain in his dealings. He understands that false praise is harmful.
He does not care for the rules of the government. He follows the rules of goodness and kindness.
A happy person is a God loving person. He prays to God day and night , for his divine mercy and not for any selfish motive or worldly achievement. He does not harm anybody .
He likes to spend his time in the company of a good friend or reading a good book.
His joys and actions are harmless.
He does not care for rise and fall in life. Success does not make him happy nor does failure discourage him.
( This article is based on the poem "Character of a Happy Life" composed by Sir Henry Wotton. )

(7.1.4) Risk

 (7.1.4) RISK

There is a risk every thing in life. If you laugh , people may call you foolish. If you weep , there may be a risk of  looking emotional. If you help others , there may be risk of being indulged i.e. people may think that there is the vested interest of the helper in his help.) If you express your feelings before others , there will be a risk of showing your real personality. If you tell people about your ideas and imaginations , they may call you inexperienced. It is also risky to love others because it is not certain that you will get love in return. Even living life is not free from risk because there too lies the risk of dying. If you hope  something , there will be a risk of despair i.e. there will be a risk of your being hopeless someday. If you try to do some thing , you fear , you may fail. Thus there is risk every where in life. But you can do nothing without taking  risk. A life without risk is the greatest danger in itself.
The person who risks nothing , can do nothing in life. He can have nothing. He becomes unimportant in the society. The person who does not take risk, can escape  from troubles and sorrows of life. But he can not learn anything. He can not feel anything new. He can not change himself or the world. He can not make progress in life. He can not love others. He can not even live his own life well because all things demand risk.
The immediate advantage of avoiding risk is that the person can avoid suffering and sorrow for a short time. But the person who risks nothing , does nothing , has nothing and becomes nothing. The person who takes risks , learns new things , gains new experience , changes his position, develops into an important person , lives life well and is able to face difficult  situations in life.
( This article is based on the poem "RISK" composed by Janet Rand )

(7.1.3) My Opinion about my Father

7.1.3 My Opinion about My Father
Please, share this experience with us :-
1.When I was three years old I thought , " My father is the bravest and the strongest person of the world.
2.When I was six years old I thought, " My father is not only the strongest person of the word but also the wisest and the most sensible person of the world.
3.When  I was nine years old I thought , " My father has the knowledge about each and every thing of the world."
4.When I was twelve years old I thought , "My father is wiser ( more sensible ) than me."
5.When I was fifteen years old I felt , " My father needs some more knowledge to keep pace with the world."
6. When I was twenty years old I felt , " My father does not belong to this world and he cannot go along with my way of thinking."
7.When I was twenty five years old I thought , " I should not take  his advice in any matter because he is in the habit of finding fault with every thing."
8.When I was thirty years old, I felt , " My father has become a bit sensible because of his copying me ( following me ) (he has copied me )
9. When I was thirty five years old , I felt ," In small matter he can be consulted with."
10.When I was forty years old , I felt , " In some necessary matters, My father's advice might be taken. "
11.When I was fifty years old , I decided , " I must not do any thing without consulting my father because now I have known it better that my father is the most sensible  person of the world. "
But before I could put my decision into action, my father  had left away this world for his heavenly abode and I had to remain deprived  of his advice and experience.

13-2-4 Small Things with a Big Difference

1. Two persons = six persons.
When two persons meet, then in fact six persons meet - the two persons what they think of themselves, the two persons about whom the other persons think and the two persons what they are. ( William James )
2. We get back the same what we give others.
Once I asked a sinner, " You commit a lot of sins. Do you know the result they bring to you ?"
The sinner replied, " The Ganga is a holy river. It washes away all the sins committed by everybody. I take a bath in the Ganga and all my sins are washed away."
Then I asked the river Ganga, " A lot of persons come and throw their sins in your water. What do you do with all the sins they throw into you ?"
The Ganga replied, " I take them with my currents and throw them into the sea. "
I asked the sea, " What do you do with the sins that the Ganga brings to you ? "
The sea replied, " I turn them into vapour and then they become the part of clouds. "
I asked the clouds, " What do you do with the sins, the sea gives to you ? "
The clouds replied, " In the form of rain we shower all the sins on their respective sinners.
3. Cheerfulness is better than grumbling -
There was once an engine driver who was a cheerful man. He always looked on the bright side of things, and was fond of telling people that there was sure to be some good in their misfortune, whether they could see it or not. One day his train ran into another and he was terribly injured. When he was taken to hospital it was found necessary to amputate one of the legs. A few days later a party of friends visited him, and one of his friends said, " I am afraid the poor fellow will have some difficulty in seeing the bright side of this affair". Hearing this, the engine driver smiled and said, " Not at all, I shall have only one boot to buy and clean in future ".  Cheerfulness is better than grumbling.

7-2-11 What and When to Speak

What and When to Speak
Through speaking we express our views and exchange our ideas with others. But it is also necessary to keep in mind that there must be proper time and proper things for speaking. There are some occasions when it is better not to speak and at some occasions it is necessary to speak otherwise our silence may create confusion. Here under are given some Dohes composed by some famous poets. These Dohes can be the guideline for what to speak and when to speak -
1. Ati kaa bhalaa na bolanaa, ati kee bhalee na choop.
Ati kaa bhalaa na barasanaa, ati kee bhalee na dhoop.
Meaning in English-. Every thing in excess is bad. Too much speaking and too much silence , both are not good. Similarly too much rain and too much dry season both are also not good. Thus every thing in excess is bad.
2. Bahut adhik jo bolate, sadaa haankate deeng.
Ve nar pashu saakaar hain, binaa poonchh aur seeng.
Meaning in English - The persons who speak too much , always boast. Such persons are just like animals without tail and horns.
3. Din dash aadar paay ke, kari le aapu bakhaan.
Jo lo kaag saraadh pakh, to lo to sammaan.
Meaning in English -  The crow gets respect during the Shraddh Paksh but when the Shraddh paksh is over , no one asks for him. In the same way some people get respect ( for some reason or the other ) for a short period and they themselves begin to say too much in their own praise, as a result they have to cut sorry figure.
4. Yaahee te yahe aadare, jagat maahan sab key.
Bole jabe bulaaiye, anbole chup hoy.
Meaning in English - ..The person must speak when he is asked to speak otherwise he must remain silent. The person who behaves like this , is respected among others.
5. Neekee te pheekee lage, bin ausar kee baat.
Jaise baranan yuddha men, ras singaar na suhaat.
Meaning in English - According to Vrinda one must not speak irrelevant things. The things may be good but  if it is said at the improper occasion , it would lose its impression and people would not like it. For example if a battle is going on and ( during that battle) some one speaks the thing related to Shringar Ras , nobody would like that thing. Even nobody would like to listen to  it.
6. Pheekee pe neekee lage, kahiye samay vichaari.
Man ke man harshit kare, jyon bibaah men gaaree.
Meaing in English -  If the improper ( unpleasant ) things are spoken at the right time, they are considered good and liked by all. For example , on the occasion of marriage the songs known as Gaalee, please every one and are considered good.
