(5.3.26) Singhast Guru / Singhasth Guru

When is Singhasth Guru :- 
Singhasth Guru i.e. the planet Guru or Jupiter will remain in Singh Rashi  from Tuesday, 14.07.2015 to Thursday, 11.08.2016
Sighastha Guru - Singh Navansh - From 14 September, 2015 to 30 September, 2015.
The Sun will remain in Mesh rashi  (Aries) - From 14.04.2016 to 14.05.2016.
What is Singhasth Guru :-
When the planet Guru (Jupiter) enters the Singh Rashi and remains there for about thirteen months. This period of thirteen months is called or known as Singhasth Guru. 
When does Singhasth Guru occur:-
Every planet transits from one sign of the zodiac to the next sign of zodiac and remains there for some period. For example , Sun remains in one sign for one month, and Jupiter remains in one sign for thirteen months. In the same way other planets also remain in one Rashi for some period. When Guru (Jupiter) enters the Singh Rashi and remains there for about thirteen months . This period is called Singhasth Guru.
What is the astrological impact of Singhasth Guru :- 
According to the Devi Puran and Varaha, during the Singhast Guru (when the Guru is in Singh Rashi),  marriage, journey, Mundan, gardening, Yagyopavit sanskar, digging well or ponds, Dev Pratishtha and the other auspicious activities or work are  not started during this period.. So marriages should not be performed during this period. But there are some exceptions to it.
Exceptions :- (1) If sun is in the Mesh Rashi, Singhasth Guru is not unfavourable for the muhurat for marriage. So during this period marriages can be performed. ( Muhurat Chintamani Shlok 49 Page 27, Muhurat Paarijaat Page 62).
(2) If Guru is in the Singh Rashi and in Singh Navansh , this period is prohibited for the marriages at all the places.(Muhurat Parijat Page 62)
(3) Out of nine quarters of the Nakshatras of Singh Rashi , Singhashath Guru is prohibited only in the first five quarters ( i. e. in the four quarters of Magha Nakshatra and first quarter of Purva Phalguni ) and in the remaining four quarters Singhasth Guru is not prohibited.
(4) When Guru is in Singh Rashi, the auspicious events are not prohibited in the area or places which are situated in the north of Ganga river and in the south of Godawari river.
(5) When Guru is in Singh Rashi, the auspicious events like marriage etc. are prohibited in the area or places which are situated between the rivers Ganga and the Godawari.
Here under is given the list of the states, cities and places which are situated between the rivers Ganga and Godawari -
A. All the area of states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orrisa, Jharkhand, West Bengal.
B. In Uttar Pradesh - Mathura, Agara, Kanpur, Aligarh, Hapud, Mujjapharnagar,Merrut, Farukhabad, Mirjapur.
C. In Rajasthan - Kota, Bundi, Dholpur, Bharatpur, sawaimadhopur, Jhalawar, Karauli.
D. In Maharashtra - Malegano, Orangabad, Nander, Nagpur, Akola, Jalgano, yavatmal.
E. In Andhara pradesh - Kakinada, Vishakhapatanam, Vijayanagaram, Narsipattanam, Bhadrachalam.
