> It provides Sanskrit education at the level of Acharya (Post graduation), Shastri (Gratution), Varishth Upadhyay (Senior Secondary), and Praveshika (Secondary).
> It modifies, updates and innovates curriculum of Sanskrit examinations.
> Controls all the recognized private Sanskrit institutions.
> It conducts local examinations under the Saman Pariksha Yojana.
> It releases academic calendar for schools and colleges.
> It appoints, transfers, gives promotions and posting places to the employs.
> It implements and executes state govt.'s orders and directions issued from time to time.
